Pepe and Sammy take turns writing in this blog - check back often on their view of the staff.....
Bad Food - 3/15/09 by Pepe
The staff has been a bit under the weather, so Sammy and I have cut them some slack, but not anymore. They tried to pull a fast one on us. I heard them laughing one evening during our meal about something “new”. Yeah it was new alright – oh my goodness, it was awful. I took one lick and that was it! I would rather just eat my own fur than down that nasty stuff. Sammy the fool ate most of the dish, and afterwards he said he had a tough time chocking it down, but he did it. The next evening – same stuff. I didn’t even waste a lick on it this time. Sammy ate maybe about a third – and then he who eats anything couldn’t stomach it any longer. Well, the staff smartened up and we got our old food back. I still see a couple of cans lurking in the cabinet, but I think they know what is good for them. I gave them my evil glare that second night – that showed them. Ha – see if they try that again. Well, until next time – happy eating…. Pepe.
White Stuff - 3/1/09 by Sammy
Here we go again! I am not sure when I look out the window what all the white stuff is but I hear the staff starting to crumble again that more is on the way. A lot more from what I can make out. I keep hearing them talk about warnings and shoveling and having to rake the roof again, whatever that is. I did see a major load of cat food come in yesterday, so I suppose there is no great need to worry…. for now. Pepe even picked up on them saying that they would have to stay home again – great – just what we need – them getting in the way of our daily activities – or should I say naughtiness. No, that wouldn’t be right as I am the innocent one! Well, we will have to see what happens. Until next time, Sammy.
Never Alone - 2/19/09 by Pepe
Last time my brother wrote about being abandoned, well what do you know - how things change in a week. This time I thought the staff would never leave. Oh my goodness. They didn't go any farther than the mailbox in 3 days. Not even for a minute, well, except when the old chubby guy went and brought back pizza. Still, the woman stayed home. I liked all the patting and extra snacks, but all the "Pepe get down. Pepe get off the stove. Pepe stop that and Pepe don't do that. Pepe NO!" Blah blah blah... it sure was annoying. I am not sure what happened but what ever did, at least they leave everyday now for a while. I need my private time you know. Although I just heard them saying something about a week-end... whatever that is. We can only hope that translates into more cat food. Until next time.... Pepe
Abandoned - 2/11/09 by Sammy
Here it is Wednesday already and I am still traumatized. The staff disappeared for two whole nights and Pepe and I were left to fend for ourselves. We should have suspected something when a mountain of food appeared and what looked like a swimming pool of water. The food was very good, another sign, some bag that said Filet Mignon flavor. Plus we got our daily can early! That was the real sign…. I knew something was up. They even put out an extra litter box – how clever, as if they think they could fool us. When they loaded in pillows into the car I knew! Pepe didn’t believe me at first, but when the sun came up the next morning and it was still just him and me he started coming around, what a fool he can be. Well, at least the staff came back after just two long nights. We have kept close tabs on them ever since – now we just need to figure out how to hide their travel bags. Until next time, Sammy.
Game Terms - 2/1/09 by Pepe
All week there has been a lot of activity around here and I am not sure what it is all about, but I keep hearing the words tackle, kicking, holding, punting and something about Cardinals. I wasn't sure what these words all meant, so I figured I would come up with some meanings all my own. So, here you go, right from Pepe's dictionary:
- Tackle - What my brother Sam does do me when I annoy him just a little too much. Happens most days.
- Kicking - Being picked up and removed from the office chair while sleeping. I hear this every day by the staff saying "Did you kick the cats out before closing the office door?"
- Holding - What the staff feel they must do everyday, and then expect me to purr... come on... put me down!
- Punting - What I do to my brother when he is on the edge of the office chair. I use my paw to give him a punt in the butt to get him moving towards the floor.
- Cardinals - Those red things I see out my window that I would love to have a taste of... I would even settle for just a lick.
Well, the festivities must be beginning soon as the staff doesn't appear to be working much, so until next time... later! Pepe
Fish Water - 1/24/09 by Sammy
Water, water, water... I enjoy the cool taste of it, especially after a good meal, but there is one type I am really found of. Now I hear the staff always talking about how they provide us with cold filtered water, always fresh in our bowl, but I am not sure what fresh is since if I have my way, which I always do, the best water seems to be kept right on our staff's desk. They often keep the door closed which is really annoying, but when they are working, and when I feel the urge, I jump up on the desk and lick that fish flavored water...mmmmm....nothing is better. I mean, if I wasn't supposed to drink from it, then why in the world would one keep an open tank with a Beta fish in it on their desk? The fish doesn't seem to mind and wow that water sure is tasty. Leave that cold filtered water to some other cats - for me, make mine fish flavored any day. Drink up! Sammy
We Have Cats? 1/19/09 by Pepe
Our staff are so annoying, especially the older and plumper one with the graying hair. He tends to be the grumpier of the two of them and is constantly speaking to us in a rather gruff voice saying things like "Cats don't get up there" and "Cats don't do that kind of things". My favorite one that I hear all the time is "Cats don't shred napkins".
What I am confused on is this whole notion that we have cats! I look around and say to myself, "We have cats?" I haven't seen any around, and I have looked. All I see is my brother Sammy and these two grumpy staff members. Perhaps if they see some cats, they would point one out to me. I suppose that that grumpy one isn't all bad as he does manage to open up a can of food now and then, and he does leave sometimes so that Sammy and I get the alone time we need to really run the business. As long as he knows his place - to serve us unconditionally. Well, I need to get some rest and go check on the staff to make sure they are actually working. Being a boss is a lonely job, but someone has to do it. And if you see any cats, be sure and let me know. Later.... Pepe
